On October 30, DingTalk's "Organizational Evolution" closed-door seminar was held at the Harvard Business Review China Annual Conference. Senior executives from various industries shared insights on the theme "AI-powered Super Organizations," exploring how enterprises can leverage DingTalk to build agile, self-driven "super organizations."
The event was moderated by Zhao Gening, deputy general manager of the Chinese edition of Harvard Business Review. Fu Xujun, COO of DingTalk, and Liu Xiao, vice president of Lianban Media Group and deputy publisher of Caijing Magazine, delivered opening remarks.
Connecting to DingTalk's Digital Foundation
Yast Achieves "Growth Through Digitalization"
At the event, Yu Chao, deputy chairman and CDO of the well-known hotel brand Yast Group, shared how Yast leverages DingTalk's digital products and services to drive high-quality development and enhance brand value.

Yast Group operates four major brands—Yast Hotel, Yast International Hotel, Yameitu Hotel, and Yastfeel Hotel—covering 1,000 hotels and serving over 20 million members. In 2019, Yast adopted DingTalk and deeply integrated it with its business scenarios. "In less than three years, we used DingTalk to digitize more than 50 specific scenarios in hotel operations, significantly easing the daily operational pressures faced by hundreds of store managers under our umbrella," Yu Chao said.
This year, Yast Hotel Group launched Agoal, a strategic execution tool powered by DingTalk. The tool covers three core stages in the strategic implementation process—"strategic decoding—strategic advancement—strategic evaluation"—helping companies comprehensively enhance strategic penetration and organizational execution, ensuring smooth transitions from strategy formulation to execution.
With Agoal's strategic decoding tool, Yast is moving away from the traditional "founder-led" strategy-making model. Through offline strategic breakdown sessions led by management, the company formulates the "Objective—Goal—Strategy—Measurement—Tactic" (OGSMT) for the coming year, marking the first step in the company's digital transformation: shifting from the chairman's "individual-driven management" to "collective management" by the leadership team.
To address pain points such as "disconnected execution progress" and "unknown risks," Yast leverages Agoal's built-in integration with DingTalk Project Management (Teambition), daily/weekly/monthly reports, monthly organizational scorecards, and internal company dashboards. These features help management better identify risks and opportunities throughout the strategic execution process, systematically overcoming longstanding challenges in translating strategy into action.
In the past, Yast faced challenges in talent incentives. Traditional performance evaluation methods struggled to motivate teams and often led to resource allocation issues due to a lack of objective evaluation criteria. This year, with the support of DingTalk Agoal, Yast has fully implemented equity incentives. By linking organizational performance with individual performance and adopting a multi-dimensional evaluation perspective, Yast has achieved a "high degree of alignment" between individuals and the collective, greatly boosting team self-motivation. Feedback has become fairer, perspectives more diverse, and incentives more timely.
Embracing the Digital Intelligence Era
DingTalk Agoal and Organizational Brain Help Enterprises "Grow From Within"
At the conference, guests shared insights and discussed the transformative impact of DingTalk AI, offering deep insights into new paradigms of organizational management in the AI era.

Liu Xiao, vice president of Lianban Media Group and deputy publisher of Caijing Magazine, noted, "We know that companies are using less than one percent of DingTalk's full functionality—a very small fraction." As a media executive, she believes DingTalk can significantly improve efficiency in high-frequency scenarios such as process approvals and work reporting. With the advent of the digital intelligence era, proficient use of management tools like DingTalk will become a basic skill akin to typing.

Fu Xujun, COO of DingTalk, stated that AI will become a consensus among all enterprises over the next decade. DingTalk will help more companies embrace new technologies and enhance organizational capabilities. This effort reflects Alibaba's years of accumulated expertise and stems from the strong connections DingTalk has built with a vast customer base. "At DingTalk, we have a saying: 'Large models, small scenarios.' For example, in performance appraisal scenarios, the focus used to be on outcomes. Now, through organizational behavior networks, digital technologies, and AI, we have the opportunity to focus on processes as well, significantly shortening the appraisal cycle and improving decision-making accuracy."

Jin Mudan, senior architect of DingTalk's organizational transformation solutions, emphasized that well-aligned organizational design and talent deployment are the foundation for strategic success. She suggested that enterprises should better "identify people," "decide who stays or leaves," and "develop talent" through digital talent profiles, dynamic talent development models, and AI-assisted identification tools.

Zheng Shanshan, a senior architect of DingTalk's organizational transformation solutions, believes that 20% of an enterprise's success depends on strategy, while 80% hinges on execution. No matter how excellent the strategy, it must be combined with the organization and its people to be realized through outstanding execution. With DingTalk Agoal, enterprises can seamlessly connect core stages such as strategic decoding, strategic execution, and strategic evaluation, creating a closed loop from strategy to execution and achieving goal-oriented, self-driven growth.

"We look forward to DingTalk delving deeper into more specific scenarios, maximizing the value of AI, and fostering symbiosis among people, organizations, and ecosystems to achieve sustainable development and make both people and organizations better," concluded Mo Shenjiang, professor at the School of Management, Zhejiang University, who served as the moderator of the panel discussion.
As the digital intelligence transformation deepens, DingTalk is expected to provide a "propellant" for enterprises' digital transformation through continuous refinement of products such as Agoal and Organizational Brain. These efforts will set a "benchmark" for industrial upgrading and help more partners achieve "growth from within" and "growth through digitalization."
