On December 4, DingTalk, the AI-powered collaboration platform under Alibaba, held the Ding Summit in Yantai, Shandong. The summit was hosted by the Yantai Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and organized by DingTalk, with guidance from the Shandong Provincial Digital Economy Association. It marked a key stop in Yantai’s initiative to bring digital technologies, including AI, "into districts, parks, and enterprises." Nearly 300 local business leaders and digital experts attended the event.
Yantai Leads in Industrial Digitalization
As a key city on the Shandong Peninsula, Yantai is the seventh prefecture-level city in northern China with a GDP exceeding 1 trillion yuan and the third-largest economy in Shandong. The city boasts strong industrial capabilities, with the added value of industries above designated size growing by 14.1% in the first three quarters of 2025. Currently, more than half of Yantai's large-scale enterprises are using DingTalk, particularly in advantageous sectors such as chemicals, energy infrastructure, and high-end manufacturing.
Government-Enterprise Collaboration Drives AI Transformation
Li Honglin, deputy director of the Yantai Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, said that in recent years, Yantai has focused on building a digital city and accelerating the processes of industrial digitalization and digital industrialization. He expressed hope that this event would further enhance the intelligence level of local enterprises.
Zhang Kaili, secretary-general of the Shandong Provincial Digital Economy Association, noted that DingTalk is not only a leader in technological innovation but also an active builder of industrial ecosystems. She expressed her expectation that DingTalk will inject new momentum into the digital transformation and intelligent upgrading of Yantai's enterprises.
At the summit, the Yantai Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology provided an interpretation of enterprise digitalization policies. DingTalk, together with the Yantai Development Zone, the Shandong Provincial Digital Economy Association, and representatives from several Shandong-based enterprises, jointly launched the "Yantai Enterprise AI Launch Ceremony," marking the official entry of local enterprises into a new AI-driven era of work.
