January 8–9, 2025, leaders from four secondary and higher vocational schools in Chongqing—Wulong District Vocational Education Center, Longmenhao Vocational Middle School, Bishan Vocational Education Center, and Chongqing Industrial and Information Technology Vocational College—visited two DingTalk industry-academia-research benchmark institutions: Wenzhou Vocational & Technical College and Zhejiang Oriental Vocational Technical College. They also toured Alibaba’s Xixi Campus, embarking on a DingTalk-focused exchange trip to gain deeper insights into advanced practices and successful models for vocational colleges in industry-education integration and digital transformation. This exchange event not only provided a valuable platform for mutual learning but also marked another significant milestone in the colleges’ efforts to drive digital transformation.

On the morning of January 8, the delegation first arrived at Wenzhou Vocational & Technical College, where Dean Yi Miaoqing of the School of Digital Economy and Trade, Vice Dean Sun Junko, DingTalk training expert Wang Haocong, and industry-academia-research expert Lei Xiaomeng welcomed the group and led a campus tour. In the college’s digital training building, a series of digital economy labs opened up new perspectives on industry-education integration for the visiting delegation.

During the lab tour, Vice Dean Sun provided a detailed overview of the school’s innovative collaboration models and cutting-edge achievements with enterprises in areas such as artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing. In the AI low-code training lab co-developed with DingTalk, Ye Jinpan, general manager of Lichen Technology—a DingTalk partner in Wenzhou—and corporate mentor Cha Min used live demonstrations and explanations to vividly showcase how DingTalk’s low-code platform supports the college’s talent development efforts. The visit gave the delegation a more concrete understanding of how DingTalk’s AI+Yida empowers vocational college training programs and helps cultivate skilled professionals.

Later that day, the delegation held an exchange seminar in the conference room. At the meeting, Dean Yi Miaoqing of the School of Digital Economy and Trade at Wenzhou Vocational & Technical College introduced the school’s background and highlighted the development of the School of Digital Economy and Trade. Since 2022, the school has partnered with DingTalk and DingTalk strategic partner Lichen Technology to establish a national industry-education alliance for digital management and vocational education, build a low-code digital training lab, develop low-code and digital management courses, co-cultivate a team of dual-qualified faculty and high-skilled students, and collaborate with the “Dual Leaders” Strong Country Action Team of the First Party Branch of the School of Digital Economy and Trade on digital Party building projects. These efforts have yielded impressive results. Looking ahead, the school has a systematic plan and clear goals for deepening its collaboration with DingTalk. Following the presentation, participants engaged in an in-depth discussion, giving the visiting delegation a deeper understanding of how to establish effective industry-academia partnerships with DingTalk.

On the afternoon of January 8, the delegation visited Zhejiang Oriental Vocational Technical College, where Director Xu Chuang of the school’s Network Information and Big Data Center warmly welcomed the group. He shared the school’s diverse approaches to IT development, emphasizing how it drives business through information while empowering operations with technology, creating synergies between the two. He focused on describing how the school leverages DingTalk’s hybrid cloud infrastructure as a new foundation to build an integrated campus management hub and a specialized data platform, enabling faculty and students to complete administrative tasks “with a single visit or anytime online.” This approach has helped create an efficient, convenient, and smart campus, accelerating the integration of new digital technologies.

Following the presentation, participants engaged in a detailed discussion on topics such as IT planning and construction, online one-stop services, data collaboration governance, and evaluation standards for smart campus development, jointly exploring pathways for high-quality development powered by digital intelligence.

On January 9, the delegation traveled to Alibaba Group’s headquarters in Hangzhou for a visit and exchange. At Alibaba’s Pavilion 9, the group not only learned about the company’s remarkable history but also gained a vivid appreciation for the unique charm of Alibaba’s culture. During the DingTalk segment of the visit, customer representatives expressed strong admiration for DingTalk, noting its profound impact on digital transformation in both the corporate and educational sectors.

Subsequently, Liu Dong, DingTalk’s regional head for Chongqing; Chen LiuJun, DingTalk’s expert on digital solutions for secondary vocational education; and Yu Xinxin, a senior DingTalk industry-academia-research instructor, provided a detailed introduction to how DingTalk’s dedicated solutions drive digital transformation in vocational colleges. They highlighted the customization capabilities of DingTalk’s proprietary apps, the intelligent upgrade of teaching and management systems, and the innovative industry-education integration solutions offered by DingTalk Yida. Their presentations sparked keen interest and active responses from all attendees. School leaders shared their current status in IT development and talent cultivation, expressing a desire to deepen their collaboration with DingTalk. They explored opportunities for comprehensive cooperation in areas such as IT enhancement, talent development system building, and joint competition organization. Both sides engaged in lively discussions on issues of mutual concern and reached several agreements.

This visit not only strengthened the cooperative relationship between Chongqing’s vocational colleges and DingTalk but also set a new milestone in their joint journey toward digital transformation. Moving forward, DingTalk will continue to work closely with educational partners to explore the vast potential of smart education and talent development, contributing to industry-education integration and digital transformation.
