Against this backdrop, on January 21, 2025, DingTalk, the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Zhejiang University, and Yimo Technology held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony at Zone C of Alibaba Xixi Campus. Together, they announced an AI general education course designed for universities, combining Zhejiang University's deep expertise in AI research and teaching with DingTalk's extensive AI practice across thousands of industries, creating a powerful joint AI talent development program. Wu Fei, Dean of the Undergraduate School of Zhejiang University, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Computer Science at Zhejiang University, and Vice Director of the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Zhejiang University; Wu Zhenhao, Vice President of DingTalk and General Manager of DingTalk Education; Wu Chao, Founder of Yimo Technology, Director of the Center for Computational Social Sciences at Zhejiang University, and Tenured Associate Professor; along with representatives from all three parties, attended the event.
Zhejiang University boasts a strong foundation in AI research and teaching practice. It is one of the first 35 universities nationwide to establish an undergraduate program in artificial intelligence, and it operates an industry-university collaboration platform and a national textbook base. Zhejiang University has developed a systematic curriculum for AI courses tailored to different disciplines, providing solid theoretical support for this collaboration through its academic expertise.
Yimo Technology, backed by Zhejiang University, supports initiatives such as the Ministry of Education's "101 Plan" and the "AI + Higher Education" demonstration project. The company has also engaged in deep collaborations with the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, Alibaba, and numerous other educational and research institutions, accumulating new forms of AI teaching resources, platform systems, and service solutions—providing strong support for the implementation of the AI general education course.

In the context of the rapid technological revolution in AI, cultivating talent with AI literacy has become a primary challenge for universities. Wu Fei showcased Zhejiang University's fruitful achievements in AI talent cultivation, as well as the progress made in developing a new generation of AI general education courses and textbooks. He believes that "universities should play a leading role in AI education, subsequently driving the development of technical education, vocational education, and social education." This signing agreement, with universities as the main body and in collaboration with enterprises and research institutions, integrates high-quality resources in hopes of providing students with better AI education and helping them adapt to the challenges of the AI era.
Wu Chao introduced Yimo Technology's accumulated achievements in curriculum, textbook, and platform development—currently boasting over 300 AI courses, more than 1,000 video projects, and over 2,000 datasets. Professor Wu Chao highly praised DingTalk's role in ensuring teaching continuity during the pandemic and, building on their longstanding trust, expressed his anticipation of working with DingTalk to provide high-quality learning resources to more students and schools.
Wu Zhenhao articulated DingTalk's goal of building an intelligent collaboration platform in the AI era, upgrading from a traditional digital infrastructure to an industry-university integration platform. Wu Zhenhao stated, "This tripartite collaboration will leverage Zhejiang University's influence and Yimo Technology's resources to integrate the concept of artificial intelligence into Chinese education, striving to serve as a benchmark and demonstration model in higher education, vocational education, and basic education. We expect to extend high-quality courses to more schools over the next year."
At the meeting, Cao Jian, Deputy General Manager of DingTalk Education, officially launched the "Zhejiang University x DingTalk AI General Education Course." DingTalk has long been committed to building the best innovation platform for AI applications in universities, and this collaboration injects strong momentum into that goal. As a collaborative office and application development platform serving both universities and industries, DingTalk leverages its technological advantages and service expertise to build a robust bridge between academia and industry, ensuring that university AI education closely aligns with industry practice and that what students learn directly meets society's needs. The newly released general education course is designed for students in science, engineering, and humanities/social sciences, featuring three course categories—A, B, and C—each with 32 class hours. The courses adopt an integrated theory-and-practice teaching model, covering students from various disciplinary backgrounds in universities. The course content encompasses multiple modules, including AI theory, large language models, AI assistants, and low-code AI application development, deeply embedding real-world industry application scenarios so that students can gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of AI technology while mastering the application of cutting-edge AI tools through hands-on practice.
This collaboration marks a major upgrade in DingTalk's service offerings to universities—expanding from simply providing digital solutions to delivering AI talent development programs. This represents not only a deep integration of technology and education but also a precise grasp of future talent needs. In the age of the steam engine, people did not need to run faster—they needed to learn how to drive a car.
