QwenWork News
Recently, QwenWork assisted the National Astronomical Observatories research team in successfully building a high-precision, large-scale, scientific-grade telescope digital simulation system—completed in just three days at a cost of less than 1,000 RMB.
In the past, similar systems typically required commissioning software companies for development, taking about three months and costing tens of thousands of yuan. In contrast, QwenWork has reduced the setup barrier by more than two orders of magnitude, bringing a breakthrough efficiency boost to astronomical research.

Why is an observation simulation system needed?
The universe is vast, and every ray of starlight captured by telescopes originates from the distant depths of space.
These events often occur unexpectedly and vanish in an instant—capturing them requires not only advanced instruments but also a “smart brain” capable of perception, reasoning, and autonomous decision-making.
This time, QwenWork served as the core technical support platform for this simulation system.

This effectively transforms each telescope part into a series of “universal sockets,” allowing agents to plug in and use them immediately—reading information in real time while remotely controlling devices.
03
This collaboration represents not only a simulation upgrade for a single device but also a forward-looking exploration of a new model for organizing astronomical research.

“AI is increasingly embedded in the research process. Researchers focus on posing questions and setting goals, while agents take on parts of observation execution, solution validation, and iterative optimization. This marks AI’s role in research expanding from a data analysis assistant to an actual executor,” said Dr. Li Yuyang, an expert on the National Astronomical Observatories’ Artificial Intelligence Promotion Committee.
