Hangzhou Lirda Technology Co., Ltd., officially known as Lirda Technology Group Co., Ltd., was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The company is a high-tech enterprise focused on IoT product R&D, technology application, and service implementation, and it went public in 2015.

Business scope: Lirda Technology Group serves as a one-stop partner for IoT product R&D, technology application, and service implementation. The company’s main businesses include IC value-added distribution, as well as the R&D, production, and sales of IoT modules and IoT system solutions. It has been awarded titles such as “Zhejiang Province Technology Little Giant” and has consistently been included in the “Global Top 500 IoT Companies.” Lirda is ranked as the second-largest supplier of NB-IoT modules worldwide.

In August 2024, Agoal Pro Polaris Edition was launched, primarily for goal management/performance management.

Business Pain Points

Low efficiency and lengthy processes when using Excel for strategic goal decomposition

In the past, Lirda would initiate strategic planning and decoding in November of the previous year. Each department would decompose strategic goals in Excel, then send individual sheets to other departments for confirmation and distribution. This process was inefficient, time-consuming, and lacked data integration with subsequent workflows.

Fragmented performance appraisal steps and difficulty in data linkage

Previously, when using other tools, performance appraisal could only be conducted manually through multi-dimensional tables. Goals were listed, leaders reviewed completion status, and appraisal results were entered. Meanwhile, peer reviews were conducted in a separate tool. This resulted in high management costs, fragmented steps, and disconnected data.

Complicated operations, lengthy follow-up processes, and high employee inquiry costs

In the past, the person responsible for performance operations had to write 3–6 Q&A documents to explain the operational steps. Employees complained about the complexity of the process, and constant manual follow-ups were required. In previous years, it took about a month and a half to barely complete the performance appraisal process.

Solution

After deciding to switch to the Agoal system for goal and performance management, Lirda, with support from the Agoal technical team, quickly migrated its goal management data from other systems to Agoal without any data loss. At the end of last year, Lirda launched its company-wide performance appraisal on Agoal. Through Agoal’s capabilities, the following was achieved:

All previously fragmented appraisal, peer review, and calibration processes are now completed within a single Agoal system

Agoal’s performance management module supports an end-to-end online appraisal process, including core stages such as plan creation → rating (self-appraisal/peer review/supervisor appraisal) → calibration → analysis. Lirda’s goal management is highly detailed, and after adopting Agoal, every stage of the performance appraisal process can be carried out on Agoal. Data is interconnected, eliminating the need to switch between multiple tools and avoiding data fragmentation and high operational costs.

Seamless DingTalk message integration enables automatic online workflow and reminders, significantly reducing process time

Agoal is deeply integrated with other DingTalk products, including seamless message integration. At each key point in the appraisal process, the relevant parties receive reminders via DingTalk messages in the form of cards. An HR colleague at Lirda responsible for Agoal operations noted, “This year, HR did not have to spend much time on follow-ups. The process was efficient and fast—what used to take a month and a half was completed in just three weeks last year.”

The peer review process supports both intelligent peer reviewer recommendations and bulk import, better aligning with Lirda’s performance management needs

In the peer review stage of Agoal’s performance management process, “intelligent peer reviewers” are automatically recommended based on the appraisee’s collaboration relationships within DingTalk, making hidden collaboration patterns visible. To enhance the accuracy of peer reviewer selection, Lirda simultaneously used the capability to import lists offline. The combination of online and offline methods makes peer review recommendations even more precise!

Simple, ready-to-use functionality reduces operational costs and minimizes employee complaints

The Agoal system is easy to use, with a low learning curve, and is ready to use out of the box. After Lirda adopted Agoal, the human resources required for operations were significantly reduced. “In the past, we had to write at least 3–6 Q&A documents, and employees often complained. Since using Agoal, we haven’t written any additional Q&A documents. Employee inquiries have dropped significantly, and everyone finds the system easy to use.”

Meanwhile, Lirda’s organizational strategy for 2025 has already been initiated in Agoal at the beginning of the year for decomposition and distribution, making the strategic implementation process more efficient!

In the ongoing process, Lirda uses Agoal Weekly/Monthly Reports to synchronize information. Goal cards can be inserted into the reports, and data updates in one place are reflected everywhere, enabling seamless data linkage.

Through the use of Agoal, this high-tech company has achieved end-to-end online management—from strategic decoding to performance management—within a single system. In this process, data is interconnected, information is automatically updated, and workflows flow seamlessly, greatly enhancing the company’s management efficiency. At the same time, Agoal’s ready-to-use features and deep integration with DingTalk make the system easy for employees to use, reduce the need for manual intervention during operations, and improve overall operational efficiency, further facilitating the efficient implementation of Lirda’s internal goal management processes.
